Urology
The field of medicine known as urology specializes in all diseases of the urinary tract, which includes the kidneys and bladder, as well as male genitalia, including the prostate and testicles. A wide range of conditions are treated in this discipline, including cancers of the kidney, prostate, bladder and testicles; kidney stones; incontinence; impotence; and a broad spectrum of other prostate diseases.
At Plaza Medical Center, we have the facilities, equipment, and expertise to handle all of these conditions. Our surgical suite has a state-of-the-art cystoscopy room for diagnosing diseases, complete with the latest technology. One example is a brand-new GE Uro-surgical table that can print out digital images and also has video capabilities. And there’s a compact Delta Lithotripter used to break down kidney and ureteral stones, which can be moved into any open Operating Suite.
Our urology department has a full compliment of advanced scopes, baskets and stents, enabling us to perform virtually any urological procedure, including minimally-invasive surgery for Laparoscopic Assisted Nephrectomy , which is a safe and effective technique for removing a diseased kidney.
The Plaza urology service department is headed by a full-time Team Leader who is an expert in all facets of cystoscopy, lithotripsy and open urological procedures.
