Plaza Medical Center's Cardiac Services has been nationally recognized as a progressive leader in cardiac care and is certified by The Joint Commission in both heart failure and the treatment of heart attack patients. The dedicated staff and cardiologists at Plaza have decreased the time-to-treatment for heart attack patients to 45 minutes, which is half the 90-minute national goal. The faster the blocked artery is opened, the less damage to the heart muscle can occur.
Plaza Medical Center evaluates and provides the latest in technology, such as the Impella device, which helps the heart pump blood to vital organs while patients undergo lifesaving interventions. The service offers a wide array of diagnostic and therapeutic services ranging from stress tests and cardiac rehabilitation to more complex procedures like off-pump surgery and radiofrequency ablations. Cardiac Services consists of four cardiac cath labs and four open-heart surgery suites.
